Katie Zaferes has been the highest performing triathlete in the United States since the 2016 Olympic Games.
In 2017, Katie won the ITU World Triathlon Series Bronze Medal, the highest placing among Americans.
As her 2018 season nears its conclusion, Zaferes leads the World Triathlon Series among all global competitors, overcoming an early-season bike crash that required hospitalization.
Approaching the 2020 Games, Katie has set her sights high, seeking to bring home a medal to the United States.
In recognition of Katie’s ascent, USA Triathlon named her its 2017 “Women’s Triathlete of the Year.” In 2018, the United States Olympic Committee honored Katie with the “Best of June” award.
